Long time coming ....

Well, since it's now 2007 ... perhaps I should update the old blog. We went into a prolonged hiatus state due to the following:
I broke my camera after we attended Eric's birthday party (see photo)-
an amazing event sponsored and planned by one Matthew (LOVE that boy!) where we all showed up dressed as Eric (that is, horn-rim glasses, pearl snapped western shirts, orange sneakers, the hair - EVERYone was some version of Eric as we sat lurking in the pizza joint awaiting his arrival. We actually surprised him - and everyone else in the place. It was HUGE fun)
I had to go back to work for real.
Mike started a masters program - in 3 years he will have a masters degree in professional counseling. So far, he has earned 2 A's in his first two classes. For a left-handed dyslexic, that's pretty darn good. He likes them A's, he does. And he can get free tacos at Taco John's!
The weather turned cold and the varnish wouldn't work right. We had to literally hang it up.
The great wooden canoe is hanging expectantly in the rafters of the garage awaiting the return of Spring in Illinois. In a typical year, that would be mid-June. This year, however, it may have already happened. El Nino my ass!
